FEATURED WEDDINGS
EMI & ADRIAN’S WINTER WEDDING
There are not many people that can say that their first meal as husband and wife was a McDonald’s cheeseburger. But man I was so glad that they didn’t forget their photographer when placing their order!
For most brides their wedding day starts early with getting their hair and make up done. Emi’s first words to me were “I turned up late…” So perhaps Emi’s start was not as early as it was meant to be. However, if she hadn’t told me I would not have known. Emi was completely calm and relaxed. She was like that all day.
I love the transformation that brides undergo when they have their hair and make up done. It’s not that they require to be made up in order to look beautiful, but the transformation to their confidence that occurs is a sight to be witnessed.
This was an amazing day with the wedding ceremony being held at St Christopher’s Cathedral, with bridal party photos being taken at the National Arboretum and Lennox Gardens in Canberra and the wedding reception being held at the Waters Edge Restaurant.
It was during the engagement shoot with Emi and Adrian that the couple confided in me that Emi was pregnant. Prior to Emi getting into her dress she gently approached me and asked if we could do a ‘baby bump’ photo. I loved the idea straight away and without too much fuss the bridesmaids has stripped Emi down. I achieved the image below using natural light provided by the hotel room’s main window.
It is with Emi’s permission that I share this photo. In Emi’s own words “Oh and we don’t mind sharing that photo at all! I’m sure many mums and pregnant women will be jealous about having those kind of memories.”
